I'll be teaching a two day course with my friend Lana Daubermann at Victorian Artists Society this July. My main motivation for this course is to empower people to go deeper into their own ways of seeing and creating. Whilst we need a handle on tools and skills to articulate our ideas (and we will give you some practical pointers to get you started with this), I really do believe that the most exciting art comes from tapping into and developing our own intuition. This course was designed with that in mind.

Description
Wanting to start exploring the world of abstract painting? This course aims to empower your intuition and practice, allowing you to more confidently articulate your own way of seeing.
Lacking confidence? We’ll discuss what’s important for your personal practice to enable risk-taking and get ideas flowing.
Unsure of where to begin? We’ll consider focal starting points such as depth, gesture and colour.
Want to improve? We’ll provide some problem-solving techniques that maximise your own judgement to help refine your vision.
Serial non-finisher? We tackle the art of knowing when to stop, and other practical considerations to help you move forward as an artist.
This workshop is suitable for painters with a basic understanding of colour mixing and paint application (oil or acrylic).
